Our Story

About Habberstad

Since 1971, the Habberstad family has been doing things differently on Long Island.

It started with one store and a simple idea: treat every customer the way you'd want to be treated. No games. No pressure. Just honest, straightforward service delivered by people who genuinely care.

More than five decades later, that idea has grown into Long Island's premier automotive group — five dealerships spanning BMW, MINI, Kia, and Powersports. But the core hasn't changed. We're still family-owned, still family-operated, and still obsessed with doing things the right way.

Now in our third generation of leadership, we're combining the values that built this company with the technology and innovation that will carry it forward. We've embraced digital retailing, invested in our facilities, and built Habberstad University to develop the next generation of automotive professionals.

But ask anyone who works here what makes Habberstad different, and they won't talk about the buildings or the brands. They'll talk about the people. The family feel. The fact that ownership doesn't just sit in an office — they're on the floor, in the service drive, at the team events.

We're not trying to be the biggest. We're trying to be the best. And we believe the path to being the best runs right through our people.
